Mostly A CappellaSaturday
|
Mostly Acappella was a genre that was conceived by me, Vaughn Durham, to host through the Fishbowl Radionetwork. There is an audience world-wide that thirsts for this format and, I am one of the leading experts, within the Metroplex, that has a vast knowledge of the subject.
I was born and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. I am a product of the public schools system, there. I attended James E. Guinn in my formative years, and graduated from historic I.M. Terrell High School. I am a telecommunication technician for a major telecommunications company. I was virtually born into the world of electronics and computers. My father, Robert, was a very well-known radio and television technician and businessman in Fort Worth.
I have resided in Fort Worth all of my life except for the seven years that I served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. I was a Data Systems technician in the military and later became a technical instructor. I was employed afterwards at General Dynamics and later became an instructor at Tarrant County Junior College. I also was employed by Gearhart-Owens and Halliburton Energy Services as a technician.
Marital status – divorced. I have four adult children, and two lovely grand divas! In my spare time {if there is such a thing}, I produce video documentaries on music and social issues. When the opportunity arises, I like to engage in a spirited game of chess; however, musically, it is very hard to miss me. My favorite styles are acappella blue grass, and classical {quite a mixture, isn't it?}. My station name is Mostly Acappella; however, the show will feature a few groups that will have some musical accompaniment; but, the key ingredient will be the voice, or voices producing the songs. Enjoy!
