“Hear it, feel it, play it”…. the very spirit that is the driving force behind every accomplished musician, and certainly the thriving element behind the creativity and artistry of jazz saxophonist, William “Bill” Gunter. Born in Conneaut, Ohio, and growing up in Cleveland / Conneaut prior to relocating to northern Texas. (Grapevine, and finally settling in Irving) In an effort to revive a virtually forgotten art form, formed his own jazz duo, “Wood & Brass” with bassist Vince McLelland of Ashtabula, Ohio, who at one time was bassist with the young Dexter Gordon in California. In addition performed at gigs locally, and setting in on numerous jazz sessions in Ohio, Maryland, Florida and Texas. His mission is ongoing to keep jazz alive and well via educating, media air waves and live playing.
